SOUNDWELL Academy students will be starting on their new site later than planned due to building delays.
The school for pupils aged between five and 18 who have a combination of social, emotional, mental health or speech, language and communication needs started in temporary accommodation at Patchway Community School last year.
Staff and pupils were due to move into new buildings on the former Soundwell College site in September.
Learn@ Multi-Academy Trust, which runs the school, said: "We're working closely with families, contractors and the Department for Education to ensure that there are no further delays and that students have a phased start in their new classrooms before the autumn half-term."
Part of the college site has been demolished and rebuilt, with the rest of the buildings refurbished to create a new school with vocational areas for engineering, a vehicle workshop, hair
and beauty and hospitality training.
