Police warning over doorstep tricksters
POLICE have warned residents of Kingswood to be on the lookout for rogue traders after a series of suspicious incidents.
All three incidents happened on the same day, February 29, and two of them involved elderly people being approached and asked about having work carried out on their homes.
One was in Kingswood, one in Frampton Cotterell, and one in Cleeve Lawns, Downend.
Avon and Somerset police said the suspects were seen to leave in a Mercedes Vito van and a blue Transit van.
A police spokesman said the men were white and spoke with Irish accents. One was described as wearing workman’s clothes and an orange jacket. Another was aged between 25 and 30, slim and had dark hair. He was wearing dark clothing.
The spokeman added: “We are appealing to residents who live in this area and have car dash cameras or home CCTV to please check their footage and get in touch if they have any information that can help with our enquiries.”
Police are calling on all residents to be alert to rogue traders and distraction burglars.
