New leader at King's Oak

October 05 2019

KING’S Oak Academy in Kingswood has started the academic year with a new man at the helm.

Richard Clutterbuck, principal of the all-age school since January 2016,  resigned in the summer and has been replaced by Dr Dan Nicholls. King's Oak which was judged as Good by Ofsted last year, is part of the Cabot Learning Federation and Dr Nicholls is the CLF’s director of education.

In a statement, the CLF thanked Mr Clutterbuck for his hard work and commitment at King’s Oak, where he oversaw the successful transition from a secondary to an all-through academy, and said change from his insightfulness, integrity and good humour would be missed.  “Under Dr Nicholls’ leadership, the academy has had a very positive start to the year, including a great deal of interest from parents of prospective new pupils interested in gaining a place for their child in next year’s Year 7 cohort,” the CLF statement said.
