OUR April presentation was given by Dave Addis on the interesting and inspiring life of the French Resistance fighter Andree Peel.
A film was shown taking us through the life of Andree born in Brest, France in 1905. In WW2 she joined the Resistance, code name X20 or known as Rose. She saved many a soldier and airman from German capture. Eventually she was arrested in Paris and ended up in the concentration camp at Buchenvald, only by luck escaping execution. She received many decorations.
After the war she met her future English husband John and moved to Long Ashton. She became well known as a Healer helping thousands in relieve of their pain Andree has an autobiography 'Miracles Do Happen'. She died at 105.
