Let's fight to save Aquarians club
I SWAM in the family session at the Aquarians Swimming Club when I was expecting our third child, who was forty in April. She and her elder brother and sister all learned to swim to a high standard there and my husband was a volunteer instructor.
It is scandalous that such a valuable community activity should be threatened with closure after well over forty years by a charity one of whose aims is presumably to promote community swimming. We are constantly being exhorted to take exercise and combat obesity and being able to swim together as a family is an agreeable way to achieve that.
There must be innumerable families in the area who owe their confidence in the water to the Aquarians. We cannot watch its demise without a fight.
