Investing in future of teaching
CABOT Learning Federation, which is based in Kingswood, will be at the forefront of professional development for teachers following a Government announcement.
The Department for Education has created Teaching School Hubs for Bristol and North Somerset, South Glos and B&NES and Somerset.
CLF supported the successful bids for running the hubs, which came from Venturers Trust and Mangotsfield Primary School.
Venturers Trust, through Colston’s Girls’ School, will lead the Somerset and Bristol and North Somerset hubs, with CLF as strategic partner, while Mangotsfield will lead the South Glos and B&NES hub.
Alison Fletcher, director of the CLF Institute, said it would bring together a coalition of partners willing to collaborate under the ‘umbrella’ of the five counties and three hub areas.
She said: “We have extensive experience delivering School Centred Initial Teacher Training, supporting early career teachers after qualification and developing leaders throughout their careers. We will bring this experience into our ongoing input to professional development and school improvement.”
Faye Kitchen, headteacher at Mangotsfield, said the collaboration would make a difference across the area.
