February 2022: Kingswood Heritage Museum
Sign of the times
KLEENEZE was founded by Harry Crook in Hanham in 1923 and was based there until 2004, when it moved its headquarters to Warmley, before finally moving out of the area.
The site of the former Kleeneze factory in Hanham is currently being cleared by Homes England in advance of an extensive redevelopment.
Kingswood Heritage Museum has gratefully taken ownership of the iconic Kleeneze sign that adorned the former factory building off Anstey’s Road for decades. This will form the centrepiece of a new exhibition featuring the history of Kleeneze in the local area.
The museum is delighted to be able to acquire the sign, and looks forward to welcoming visitors to the new exhibition when the museum reopens in April.
