Cards and cookies bring great cheer
FOR the second year in a row, a Kingswood girl has made Mother's Day cards and cookies for residents at a care home.
Sunny Rowe, a pupil at King’s Oak Academy Acorn, got baking and creating to lift the spirits for people living at Avon Valley Care Home.
Sunny said: “I wanted to put a smile on their faces, because the residents are not seeing their families and all of their loved ones. I thought it would be nice to make them happy, so I made them cards and cookies.”
Katherine Ogden, principal of King’s Oak Academy, said: “The pandemic has affected everyone in different ways, and it has been heartening to see how the Kingswood community responded to this.
“We are particularly proud of Sunny who has shown exceptional thoughtfulness for the residents of Avon Valley Care Home. She made 50 cards and cookies for Mother's Day, which delighted all who received them.”
